Bob McTavish

Hey all, one of the boys at work told me Bob McTavish would be giving a talk and shaping a board and showing some old  sixties surf film shot on 8mm  at a local surf shop near my house so I thought I go along and check it out, I was blessed growing up on the northern beaches in Sydney where surfing is a way of life, it was a big part of my life till I moved to Brisbane where I am slightly land locked now, I did not realised how I took the beach for granted living only 5mins away from it in Sydney . Back in the 70's Bob was shaping at Bennett surfboards at Brookvale doing a line of boards called Blue Birds and a friend of mine got one, I loved it , single fin swallow tail, so cool, any way enough of this reminiscing ,I am glad I went, Bob has a zest for life that is catching  , wish every one was like Bob the world would be better.

Triple Treat

Hey all, I love what Yamaha are doing at the moment, all these new models and concepts, one of my good mates just picked up a new MT09  a crazy new triple,I was lucky to have a quick blast on it and loved it , good on you Yamaha for trying some thing different.

Cases Cleaned

Hey all, spent the morning stripping the old engine paint of the crank cases using paint stripper, it worked well, nice and clean for painting now, may be dark grey , you will soon see.

Rebirth of a Trials Bike

Hey all, back in the nineties I was totally in to motorcycle trials , if you don't know what it is, you tube it , any way I started out on a Yamaha TY250 , then I went  euro on to a Beta 260 Zero,great bike I loved it, I sold that one to a friend and got myself a Beta Sytn 260 which I still own today, its 22years old  and has not gone for the last 13years due to a downing I gave it in a giant bog hole , now that's another story, anyway the plan is to rebuild her so I am starting with the motor, a full rebuild, let the fun and money begin ...LOL

Trail ride

Hey all, fired up the old TTR250 the other day for a trail ride with the boys,we were only going out for a few hours and it turned out to be an all day affair, I don't trail ride much these days and I might say I am over it but I did enjoy it, I do miss my 07 Yamaha wr450 mainly the suspension and brakes but for the amount of trail riding I do the TTR250 will do me.

Callum Barker Moto 3 GP rider

Hey all, I was down at Brisbane Honda the other day getting a few bits for my Honda ct110 and met this young 16 year old kid, Callum Barker, who was raising money selling sausage sandwiches and raffle tickets to help him get to the Moto GP at Phillip Island racing in the Moto3 class as a wild card, I chatted with him and his dad for a while about their chances and their bike which they made for about a friction of the price of a factory bike but had developed it to be one of the quickest in Australia,anyway Callum I will be cheering for you so GO FOR IT mate.....p.s the pic below is one Callum signed and gave me.

Hand done

Hey all, today with all the vinyl wraps and vinyl decals and stickers that are on cars and trucks its good to see hand done pin stripping and scrolling, when I first started work at Flowers many many years ago we had this guy come in and do sign writing and pin stripping  on trucks for us , I was always in trouble for watching him work in stead of working on the trucks myself, I still think its cool and a true art form, here is a few pics for you.

Hey all, there is something about these I have always liked, don't know if I would buy one but then again I have had a few euro bikes over the years, I think if you are into bikes you should have owned at leased one euro bike in your life time, spotted this one at Lakeside the other week, man it does look nice.
